AN AMAZING DAY IN SUN CITY, ARIZONA!!!

Today, the day before the riders set off for their 2400 mile journey, was an extraordinary day for all of us affiliated with SammyRides.  Extraordinary in the fact that people who were total strangers  only a few months ago have truly made us feel a part of their community by the outreach of warmth. kindness, generosity and friendship.    Activities kept us busy throughout the day, followed by a fantastic dinner at the home of Lori and Bill Pearson, where we not only enjoyed a scrumptious dinner but we were treated to the wonderful hospitality of residents from the community.

Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, a meet and greet was held for us in which Michael Libenson was given the opportunity to address the members of the NextGen Club sharing the emotional story of SammyRides.  Michael's heartfelt speech stressed the importance of bringing attention to the numbers of children diagnosed each year with some form of pediatric cancer.  He stressed our goal of funding research to hopefully one day, find a cure for pediatric cancer.  

  After Michael's speech, the 50th Anniversary Committee presented SammyRides with a $1500 check.  The generosity from individual members of the audience resulted in an additional $1300 to the project.

How blessed we are to be associated with such a caring and loving community as Sun City, Arizona.

Several of our new found friends have expressed interest in joining us for our return to Sun City Center on April 30th!!!!    Thank you Sun City, Arizona for all you have done for us!!!!
