Today, a busy day riding through the beautiful mountains on our way to Superior, AZ. One of the residents, Jack, from Apache Junction, rode the first 10 miles with our riders and although the highway was a bit stressful, they managed to keep up a good pace with one another, especially when tackling those big, steep hills!
I actually got to do my first EMT task....taking care of a slight bruise on Mike Brown's ankle!!!
Tonight, another wonderful meet and greet with such lovely people at a church in Superior, AZ. We were treated with warm hospitality, friendship, and a delicious pot luck supper.....This is a club sponsored by the Superior, AZ. Optimists International Organization which is dedicated in bringing out the best in kids, and with over 2,900 clubs around the world. The four of us felt extremely honored to be so warmly welcomed.
Tomorrow, to Globe, AZ where we hear the roads are steep and curvy....I'll be very happy when we're safely there later in the day. Nothing planned in the eve., so we'll have a chance to organize the van, do laundry and just rest. Sunday will be a day to rest up with no biking scheduled.
From beautiful Arizona, that we love so much, the four of us send our love and best wishes to you all. Lois

Lois, you NEVER cease to amaze me!!
We are following all of you, and good wishes are continuous. Everyone be healthy and continue to have lots of strength. You are all emulating the strength of Sammy and all the other children who have these horrible diseases. I hope Mike Brown's ankle is now a thing of the past and well-healed.
Love,
Fern
Well, I didn't mean that his "ankle" is a thing of the past, just the bruise on it :-)
